This brand, known mainly for its collection of high quality towels, needs little Introduction. Stocked by Seymour's during the 1970's, 1980's and into the 1990's but then dropped due to concerns over new ownership and where quality would be headed with production moved out of Great Britain. We are now proud to re-affirm our collaboration with this wonderful brand, who are seeing a resurgence in popularity, and for whom quality is again a top requirement.
Christy have been crafting towels for over 170 years, ever since Henry Christy returned to Britain (1850) following an expedition to Turkey. The Christy brothers then created a machine that would make towelling on an industrial scale.
The Royal Turkish towel evolved over the years, always with a connection to the British Royal family, who were firm supporters of the brand.
In 1988 Christy became the official supplier to the Wimbledon tennis tournament, and you can still see their towels to this day being used by the players.
In 2003 Christy launched a bedlinen collection, although they still had a lot to prove to us at Seymour's before we would consider representing them again.
2023 appears to have been a breakthrough year. New owners (since 2006), new positioning, new product development, and a commitment once again to become the leading quality brand they once were. Welcome back to Seymour's Christy.
