Simple in its presentation, with a simple oxford border but no piping, Amanda is produced using the Grand Cru of all cottons, the extremely rare Giza 45. Production of this highest rated, most exclusive cotton represents less than 0.1% of the annual Egyptian Cotton production.

The very highest advertised thread count bed linens (usually 1000 or 1200) are usually heavy and dull, such is the way the yarns are often cut and twisted to achieve such high numbers. Amanda however, not only achieves an incredible thread count of 1400 thanks to the super fine yarns of the Giza 45 cotton, but does so whilst remaining lightweight, super smooth and undeniably softer than you would have though possible.

About Giza 45
Giza 45 is the rarest and most expensive of all cottons. It is grown in a very small area, in fact a field on the banks of the Nile Delta region in Egypt. Each year, the plants of Giza 45 cotton are cultivated. Only a limited quantity can be produced and the manual picking of the cotton at the right degree of maturity ensures only the best plants are selected rather than all being swept up mechanically.
The Giza 45 cotton fibres are finer and stronger than any other and also extremely long. They can be woven into higher thread counts than any other cotton with minimal bulk and superior strength.
