This iconic brand was founded in 1970 by Japanese designer Kenzo Takada

Known for his Asian influenced style and European quality construction, Kenzo first started with a "Jungle Jap" boutique which was decorated with a jungle inspired interior. His first collection of handmade women's clothing was made with fabrics bought in Monmartre Paris, but the "Jungle Jap" brand soon had to be changed to "Kenzo" as it was thought to construe a  pejorative image.

By 1988 Kenzo started designing men's, kids and homewares.
